Mad Catz have always managed to amaze their customers by introducing wild and crazy design. Their latest introduction Mad Catz STRIKE 7 is certainly amongst them.  They announced this brilliant gadget last year November. Strike 7  is one of the most luxurious keyboards in the market so far.The best feature of this keyboard is that it allows you to take control of the game by setting up the keyboard to your  preference. It’s great for all the gamers out there, but even if you’re not one it still is the best choice for you as It’s quite suitable for normal typing as well.

When you see this keyboard, it’s incredible design automatically gives you a  sense that it’s a big deal. The S.T.R.I.K.E 7 keyboard comes in a sizable keyboard box shorter than a typical keyboard box and about 3-4 times as tall. It consists of 7 main pieces, (not counting the AC power adapter.) which can be put together and detached in a number of ways all depending on your preference.

The parts are:

  • The main keyboard
  • The auxiliary keyboard ( number pad, arrow keys etc.), which includes 5 additional programmable keys (C1-C5) located around the arrow key cluster
  • The V.E.N.O.M. touch screen with integrated media control buttons and mode switching buttons
  • The 4-button action bar
  • 1 (left-hand) palm rest, which includes an auxiliary horizontal scroll wheel and extra thumb button
  • 2 wrist rests

Black and red mini-USB cables link the active components to the V.E.N.O.M. console, which pipes out the peripheral’s input to the PC. The black WASD and arrow keys can be swapped out for two alternative sets, too, featuring light indentation or bright red accents. It has levers jutting out of the body and buttons to control PC audio, switch between programmable profiles and return to the home screen. The on-screen volume and media controls fare better, however, allowing users to see and adjust levels for microphones, web browsers and general volume options directly on the keyboard itself.

The Venom touch screen allows for easy access to keyboard functions, macro controls and PC settings, as well as in-game chat through TeamSpeak. The V.E.N.O.M.’s macro menu stands out due to its customization. Combined with the S.T.R.I.K.E. 7′s companion software, the V.E.N.O.M.’s macro app offers 36 touch screen toggles across three customizable profiles.

The S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 comes with a helpful set up guide with all the different combinations this keyboard can be set up into which is very useful for all the users. Strike 7 will cost just a bit more than the normal PC keyboard as it’s priced at $300. But just so that you know this superb not so little device is worth the money you’ll spend.
